SinoVision English Channel visits the Tenement Museum to get a look at its new exhibition, “Under One Roof,” opening in mid-October. The museum consists of two Lower East Side tenement buildings – 97 Orchard St., which housed immigrant families between 1863 and 1935, and 103 Orchard St., where families lived in the decades after World War II.
A Polish-Jewish family (who lived in the building from 1955-1961), a Puerto Rican family (1964-2013) and a Chinese family (1968-2014) make up the new exhibition.
Ahead of the show’s opening, SinoVision speaks to its curator and the Chinese family.
