SinoVision English Channel pays a visit to the First Chinese Baptist Church in Chinatown as it marks 92 years.
Towe Lee, who founded the church to combat Chinatown gang violence, had “worked to make a 90 degree angle street that was filled with blood a place of safety,” said Rev. Bayer Lee. Mabel Lee, an activist for women’s rights and a suffragette, took over after the death of her father.
See how more than nine decades after its founding, the church continues to emphasize community outreach and mentorship.
