The National Black Theatre Company at 50

This year, the National Black Theatre Company marks the 50th anniversary of its founding by the late Barbara Ann Teer. Sade Lythcott, who serves as the company’s CEO, tells BRIC TV’s MacKenzie Fegan how her mother started the Harlem institution with the idea that art can serve as a vehicle for social change, and empower and liberate marginalized communities.
