In the Brooklyn immigrant enclave of Sunset Park, a new spirit of activism seems to be taking root. A rent strike launched by three Latinas has turned them into community leaders, reports the Indypendent. And a founder of the area’s Occupy movement filmed an incident of alleged police misconduct, Home Reporter News reports.
