Prescription Drug Addiction on the Rise Among Elderly in the Bronx

The Kingsbridge-Riverdale neighborhood in the Bronx has some of the city’s highest rates of prescription pain medication use — and misuse — found a study by the city’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Senior citizens, in particular, are using addictive drugs at unprecedented rates, the Riverdale Press reports.
