Indian languages will appear on ballots

Indian/South Asian languages will soon be featured on bilingual ballots in four jurisdictions where Indian Americans and South Asians are a significant part of the electorate. According to a Census Bureau announcement, Los Angeles County, California; Cook County, Illinois; and Queens, N.Y. will have “Indian” languages added on to ballots, while Hamtramck County, Michigan, will have “Bangaldeshi.”
