NY’s gay Irish keep mass attendance alive

Despite the Roman Catholic Church’s condemnation of homosexuality, gay Irish Catholics have found a welcoming place of worship in a Greenwich Village church. Each Sunday evening, roughly 100 members of Dignity, a Catholic non-profit organization for homosexual and trans-gender persons, transform the Episcopal Church St John into an unusual Catholic sanctuary.
