The dead won’t sleep in the Bronx

The Mexican population in the South Bronx has been steadily increasing for the past two decades. However, while Mexicans back home visit deceased loved ones on Día de los Muertos, those here in New York don’t—moreso than any other immigrant group in the area, Mexicans adhere to the ritual of sending the bodies of the deceased back to their native Mexico. It may be expensive but they do whatever they can to afford it.
