They started their adventure in April. The backpackers were all young professionals in Korea who quit their jobs to promote their national food. They traveled to four continents, 15 countries and 22 cities in over eight months. A trip that culminated at the Crossroads of the World.

Their journey was sponsored by various organizations including the Korean Food Foundation and Korean Culture and Information Service. The backpackers ended their trip with a visit to The Korea Society–a non-profit organization dedicated solely to the “promotion of greater awareness, understanding, and cooperation between the people of the United States and Korea.” That event was moderated by Eddie Song, whose Korean food truck, Korilla BBQ, has become a New York City sensation, serving Bulgogi and Kimchi tacos and burritos.
