Indigenous Communities Lead the Climate March

Indigenous communities marched at the front of People’s Climate March on Sunday, showing how they were the very first to be affected by the consequences of climate change.

Gibran Raya spoke on behalf of the dance group in this video by Kyle Ligman. Based primarily in New York, the group is named Cetiliztli Nauhcampa Quetzalcoatl in Ixachitlan, which translates to Group of the Four Directions on the East of the Continent.
