#BHeard at BRIC’s Town Hall on Gentrification

Brooklyn Independent Media (BRIC) is urging the borough’s residents to #BHeard at a town hall meeting scheduled for 7 pm – 9 pm on Jan. 28 at the BRIC House Ballroom at 647 Fulton St. in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn for Sale: The Price of Gentrification,” will explore “one of the foremost questions confronting Brooklyn today: Where do market forces and policy need to meet so that we can preserve the integrity of our diverse borough?”

On hand for the give and take will be City Comptroller Scott Stringer, who will make the opening remarks, as well as a number of  panelists, including Brooklyn College sociology professor Sharon Zukin, City Council member Robert Cornegy, community organizers and others.

BRIC said it is aiming “to include as many perspectives as possible on the issue,” from homeowners to renters to people worried about racial and class tensions.
