Almost 200 turned out for a protest Aug. 14 against the expulsion of Dominico-Haitians from the Dominican Republic, reports Carlotta Mohamed, who produced a video report of the march for The Haitian Times.

Participants, which included 15 Haitian diaspora organizations and the Coalition for Human Rights in the Dominican Republic, marched from Grand Army Plaza at Prospect Park in Brooklyn to City Hall in Manhattan.

“We shouldn’t have to continue marching over and over just to get a little attention,” said Assembly member Rodneyse Bichotte, who along with Council member Mathieu Eugene, sponsored the demonstration.
