Dozens of concerned members in the community gathered in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, on Sept. 17 to march and pray for peace. The movement comes after a string of violent and deadly crimes in the area, including the shooting of Carey Gabay, a lawyer in Gov. Cuomo’s administration, who was pronounced dead on Sept. 16.
Local politicians spoke of the need for the community to come together in an effort to end this ongoing crisis. Melissa Rose Cooper was there for as they asked for peace.
