On the first Saturday of Black History Month, a group came together with laptops and library books to add and edit entries in Wikipedia, the web’s free encyclopedia. On Feb. 6, the Black Life Matters Wikipedia Edit-a-thon was held at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem.

The event aimed to enlist more people of color as Wikipedia editors as well as add information to existing pages and create new entries about Black history and culture.

Some in attendance spoke with reporter Roxanne L. Scott.
