Rabbis in Action Against Trump

“We, as rabbis and Jews, know too well the dangers of closing America’s borders to those fleeing war, persecution, and terror,” said Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Herrmann of the Society for the Advancement of Judaism (SAJ).

In February, nineteen rabbis including Herrmann took to the streets to take action against the Muslim ban. On Jan. 27, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to make good on his promise to restrict the entry of Muslims into the country. One of the primary provisions of the order is a ban on visas to the U.S. to nationals from seven countries: Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen, which are all Muslim-majority nations.

Iris Verhoeven, Simone Oosterbaan and Els Anker of the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht talked to Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Herrmann and Rabbi David Ingber of Romemu New York.
