Manuel Caballero of Filipino Reporter, who is part of the committee that is organizing anniversary events, takes a look at the history of the parish, which held its first Mass that same April day 100 years ago. The congregation, at the time made up of European immigrants, today boasts a majority of Filipino immigrants.

On Saturday, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop and City Council President Rolando Lavarro Jr., whose parents immigrated from the Philippines, and other dignitaries will join an expected crowd of some 400 guests at Gala Night in honor of Our Lady of Victories’ centennial anniversary.
