A Conversation with Yuh-Line Niou

When Yuh-Line Niou took over former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s seat, she became the first Asian American to represent not just Chinatown but a Manhattan district. She speaks about her first year in the Assembly in this month’s episode of CUNY TV’s “Asian American Life” (1:20).

The show also looks at Korean-American reaction to the escalating tensions with North Korea and how the situation hits “close to home” (7:37); “why smoking addiction is pervasive” in the Asian-American community (13:30); and preventing osteoporosis (19:34).
