On Nov. 24, Svoboda reported that a solemn procession in memory of those who died as a result of the Holodomor genocide in Ukraine in 1932-1933, was held in New York on Nov. 18.

[Holodomor is the name given to the man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine estimated to have killed 7 million to 10 million people.]

A requiem for victims of the genocide was held in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, followed by speeches by U.S. officials and representatives of various Ukrainian public organizations.
