The presses were rolling the other day with the first print edition of Bklyner – a local version for the Kensington/Ditmas Park/Flatbush area of the borough. Publisher Liena Zagare, conceding that “we at Bklyner mostly think of ourselves as internet people,” said the impetus to try a print edition came from the fact that “we keep hearing from our readers and advertisers that neighbors miss the stories they care about.”

Early copies could be found at George’s or Kings County Wines in the neighborhood. Condensed versions of online stories were reprinted in the paper, which Zagare dubbed “an experiment.” She invited readers to send feedback, and left open the possibility of another print run.
