A recent Diaspora Summit brought together politicians and concerned Puerto Ricans to discuss the island’s future – and launched the Center for Puerto Rican Studies into a new, more activist role.

Andrew Boryga, 25, grew up in the Bronx with a single mother. He attended Cornell University where he got his first internship at the New York Times which eventually landed him a job.
