Online Campaign Recruits Volunteer Lawyers for Immigrants

Due to the massive backlog of immigration cases in courts, the state, along with Catholic Charities, has launched an online campaign aiming to recruit volunteer lawyers to offer legal services to low-income immigrants, El Diario La Prensa reports.

A report by Syracuse University reveals that New York is the state where the largest number of immigrants have free legal assistance, leading to a rate of deportation that is half of Texas’, El Diario/La Prensa reports.
