According to the first complete report on the health of Latinos in the Big Apple, this ethnic group often fares better than non-Latino whites, but Puerto Ricans have the highest rates of chronic illness and premature deaths among Hispanics, El Diario/La Prensa reports.

The NYC Dept. of Health for the first time released data on mortality causes within the Chinese community, and deaths because of lung cancer rose 70 percent between 2000 and 2014, compared with a decline of 16.4 percent across the city during that period, reports Sing Tao Daily.
