Turnout Low for Kids’ Summer Food Program

Of the kids who receive free or reduced-price lunches during the school year, only a fraction regularly eat meals provided by the Summer Food Service Program. Brooklyn Bureau looks at factors contributing to this discrepancy, as advocates and the DOE work on outreach and facilitating access to the meals.
